Looking For A Well-Written MLA Style Dissertation Sample

So you're looking for a sample but you're not sure where to start. As you know, there is a right way and a wrong way to write certain things. You're looking for examples of the right way, so you're on the right track. I was told to stay away from any technical websites because they do not use the MLA style. So there you go; don't bother with technical websites.

If you're not really sure what MLA means, it stands for Modern Language Association. It is a style of formatting and citations that focus on literature and language. The MLA style uses parenthetical citation that connects to an entry on an alphabetical list at the end of a paper. There are various formatting styles for writing any dissertation, so if you're looking for examples to make sure you're using the correct format.

I recommend going to any search engine to find samples. You might also find them in a library, so if you don't have access to a computer, or just haven't had much like using search engines, then the library is your best bet.

Here are a few things to look for when you're looking to find a good sample:

  • If an author is being cited, the format should be as follows: first name, last name, the title of the book, the city of publication, the publisher and the year of medium of publication. This is pretty basic format; just make sure you use it properly. I'm only telling you what to look for; I'm not placing it in proper MLA style myself!
  • If you're citing a book that was published by an organization then you should see the name of that organization followed by the name of the book, the city of publication, the year of publication and the type of publication; print, digital or whatever applies.
  • If an anthology or collection is being cited, then the format should be listed by the editor, followed by the title, city and year of publication.

As you can see, they pretty much follow the same type of formatting. It may sound confusing at first, but MLA style is the most concise and easy formatting to use. It can also be considered at the most popular. I hope the examples above have helped you in your search for MLA style dissertation samples. May you find what you're looking for!
